My Misadventures in MADrid: Spanish Protocol

Monica returns home exhausted from work carrying groceries and desperate to make a well deserved dinner. What awaits her as she steps out of the elevator are her neighbors: An angry woman yelling at her defeated husband, along with a young quiet boy of 12. The hallway is narrow, and Monica is hungry. She jets past her neighbors and is about to open her door when the women screams at her rudeness of not holding the door or saying “Perdon.” Justice had to be served as Monica ran back down five flights and confronted the family by saying in a fake American accent, “Perdon, siendo americana no conozco el protocolo espaƱol. Gracias por enseƱarmelo.”
